Ideas Brought to Life
Independent projects that combine strategy, research, storytelling, design, and technology.
Featured Project
Mini World Atlas
Mini World Atlas started with a simple observation: the miniature hobby community was scattered across social media with no central, high-quality resource. I researched the market, defined the audience, developed the brand, and built the platform — handling everything from UX decisions to content architecture to growth strategy.
What I'm Building
Anwen Thomas Portfolio
LiveThis site — designed and built as a working demonstration of personal brand positioning, visual design, content strategy, and creative direction applied to career marketing.
Trace Room
In DevelopmentA FOIA request manager built in Replit to tame the messy world of public-records requests — tracking submissions across agencies, monitoring deadlines and responses, and organizing returned documents in one place. A built-in scraper automates the tedious parts of finding the right agencies and pulling in records. The idea grew directly out of watching investigative true-crime researchers and producers wrestle with a slow, fragmented request process that eats into the time meant for actual storytelling.
Methodology
How I Approach New Ideas
Research the Problem
Understanding the landscape, existing solutions, and real audience needs before writing a single word.
Understand the Audience
Who they are, what they care about, how they search, and what they need to see before they trust something.
Develop the Concept
Defining the brand, the structure, and the story — what it is, why it matters, and what makes it worth building.
Build and Test
Creating the actual thing — iterating, refining, and testing against real use.
Launch and Gather Feedback
Getting it live and paying attention to how people actually interact with it.
Improve Over Time
Using real data and feedback to continuously make the work better.
