See It Live
The GJR website still runs on content, photography, and creative I produced during my time there.
George Junior Republic is a residential treatment and education nonprofit serving youth and families in Grove City, Pennsylvania. I joined as a Social Media Marketing Intern in August 2021 and grew — through five roles over nearly five years — to Design & Marketing Coordinator. Throughout that time, I served as the primary creative, communications, and marketing resource across GJR and its affiliated organizations simultaneously.
The Challenge
Multiple organizations.
One creative voice.
Each affiliated organization had distinct audiences, different communication needs, and varying levels of brand development — but the team producing all marketing content was, effectively, one person.
The challenge was building and maintaining a professional, consistent communications presence across social, email, web, and print for multiple organizations — while managing increasing scope and responsibility with each progression in role.

Strategic Approach
Balancing disparate needs required systemic thinking across four key pillars.
Multi-Org Brand Management
Developing and maintaining distinct visual identities for each affiliated organization while preserving shared institutional credibility.
Channel Integration
Coordinating messaging across social, email, web, and print so campaigns felt cohesive across every organization.
Photography-First Storytelling
Using original photography throughout to build authentic community presence and donor trust across channels.
Audience-Specific Content
Tailoring tone and framing for families, funders, community partners, and recruitment audiences — often within the same campaign cycle.
Creative Direction — Photography
All photography was produced in-house. Images were used across web, social, print, annual reports, and recruitment materials — serving multiple organizations and audiences.
Publication Design — Annual Reports
Written, designed, and produced in-house from cover to cover — copy, layout, photography, and print production. Flip through the published reports below.

Reflection
Being a department of one forces clarity. You can't waste time on things that don't move the needle — which means every decision has to be strategic.
Nearly five years of that constraint made me a faster problem-solver, a more intentional creative, and a much better marketer.
