Kynisha and Chet's August Wedding: Photographing Through the Heat
A cloudless August wedding, a genuinely kind crowd, and the DRYKI sweat towels that helped Kynisha, Chet, and me get through the heat.
Every person I met at Kynisha and Chet's wedding was incredibly kind. There was so much affection between the two of them, and that warmth extended to the people around them. Going through their photographs afterward, I kept coming back to how clearly you could see it.
It was also an extremely hot day in August. There wasn't a single cloud in the sky. Kynisha, Chet, and I were all sweating profusely, which is a fairly practical detail to remember alongside the beautiful parts of a wedding.
What helped us through the heat
I had brought DRYKI sweat towels, and they came in handy for all three of us. Having something available to wipe away sweat was a small bit of preparation that made a real difference in that weather.
The DRYKI link is an Amazon product link. Purchases through it may earn me a commission.
A couple has plenty to think about on their wedding day. In that kind of heat, being able to offer something useful takes one more concern off their minds. It took very little extra effort for me to bring the towels along, and I was glad I had enough to help the bride and groom too.
The people in these photographs
The photograph of the groomsmen tossing Chet into the air shows just how much fun everyone was having. Behind them is that completely clear August sky.
I enjoyed the kindness I was shown while working, and I love being able to see that same care in the pictures of Kynisha and Chet together.
What I will keep in my bag
The towels earned their place in my kit that day. When I prepare for another summer wedding, I want to think about what the weather will feel like for everyone standing in front of my camera as well as for me. A small item that helps someone feel more comfortable is worth carrying.
